Comes from the analogy that internet scammers are using email bait to fish for passwords and financial data from the sea of internet users. Since hackers have a tendancy of replacing "f" with "ph", the term phishing was derived. The term has evolved over the years to include not only obtaining user account details but access to all personal and financial data. (please don`t click links in your email..)

Linux tips 2

The Konqueror web browser is an altered to firefox or mozilla in linux with features like tabbed browsing changeing the browser identy and my new fav auto refresh so if you have a few web pages up you like or are bidding on different auctions you can keep them up and new.
sometime while running a live knoppix cd this option is not under the tools tab don't freak out here how to fix it.
goto the settings tab then click Configue Extensions then a window will come up and you click the tools button in there and check off one or both of the auto refresh buttons click apply and ok and load the tabbed or web browsing to get it going.

Linux tips Part 1

Adding Flash(thumb) drive support to a knoppix or related (debian) system.
it is so s1mpl3 open a simple text editor then open file then you may have to scroll back to your root folder or / then goto the etc or /etc folder and open the fstab file
just add this line in
/dev/usb0 /mnt/sda1 vfat user,noauto,exec,umask=000 1 0
that worked for my 64mb device or you may try
/dev/sda1 /media/sda1 vfat user,noauto,exec,umask=000 1 0
this is for the normal fat32 not ntfs (ill try to post about that later)

Hey

Ok not to much going on here. I have been working on some Linux boxes more lately. I acquired some free computers from a family members work. I would like to setup a debain or knoppix download mirror it is just I have high speed cable but it may not be enough and on the debian side I can come up with the 40 gig min. I am waiting tell I upgrade two of the PC to 800 mgz and go from there.
